I want you to know that when you work with me, you’re getting more than just a therapist—you’re getting someone who’s fully in your corner.
Over the years, I’ve worked in hospitals, community programs, and private practice, helping kids, teens, young adults, and adults navigate anxiety, stress, life transitions, and those “I feel totally stuck” moments.
I blend CBT, DBT, and mindfulness into a style that’s practical, warm, and tailored to you. That means we’re not just talking—we’re finding strategies you can actually use in your day-to-day life. Whether you’re a college student drowning in deadlines, a parent watching your child struggle with big feelings, or an adult feeling overwhelmed by change, I’m here to help you find your footing, build confidence, and start feeling more like yourself again.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker who works with individuals navigating trauma, neurodivergence, substance use, relationship and marital challenges, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and LGBTQ+ populations. I use a variety of approaches including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based interventions, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Therapy is always tailored to meet your unique needs and goals.
I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Somatic Therapy. I have worked for numerous years as a coach, therapist, and instructor for mental health centers and now private practice. I have specific training to trauma and see clients from a wide scope of backgrounds including anxiety, depression, postpartum issues, relationship issues, and life transitions and grief and loss.
Growing up with 4 brothers and 2 sisters lead me to develop a strong and outgoing personality that carries into sessions; I am gently candid to help push people to their potential. My goal is to explore people’s values and encourage them to develop their strengths. I believe laughter is healing so I implement that frequently into sessions.
I was raised in San Diego, CA, and received my PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. I completed both my doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at CU Boulder's Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS). I prioritize a generalist approach that prepares me to work effectively with a very wide range of concerns in therapy, and I have specializations in providing compassionate crisis services as well as behavioral health support in medical settings.
Hi, I’m Denae! As a therapist who lives in the neurodivergent world myself, I believe therapy should be both real and lighthearted. With over a decade in behavioral health and dual licenses in counseling and addictions, I bring both clinical training and personal experience. I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University. My goal is to create a safe space where you can show up authentically, free from judgment, with a touch of humor along the way.
I see my job as helping folks examine why we beat ourselves and others up emotionally, and how to do something different. Together, we’ll work on figuring out what matters most to you and navigating toward it. If you value straight-forwardness, humor, geeky metaphors, and having someone sit with you in the discomfort, we are probably a good match.
I love this work. Twenty plus years in the field of psychotherapy, from hospitals, residential treatment, schools, outpatient clinics, crisis teams, to professional teams and now private practice, I offer a wide range of interventions.
If you're seeking family systems (internal and external), Couples & communication, Parenting & Co-parenting, Individual therapy, Trauma-recovery using EMDR, Brainspotting, Mindfulness and CBT, and Art Therapy, to support in identity exploration and archetypes, I'll meet you where you're ready to work. Even if therapy is new to you, or a familiar practice, we'll find where you are and what's in the way of where you want to be.
Feeling stuck, disconnected, or weighed down by past experiences? Whether you're struggling with relationships, self-worth, or navigating grief and loss, therapy can be a powerful space for healing and growth. I specialize in helping individuals work through attachment wounds, life transitions, and the impact of trauma. My approach is collaborative, insight-driven, and action-oriented, so you can not only understand your patterns but also take meaningful steps toward change.
I am a compassionate, open-minded therapist who values direct communication and builds genuine connections through honesty. I work effectively with teens and adults navigating identity, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
