Unsure if therapy is right for you? Many people I work with start therapy feeling frustrated with patterns they can’t seem to change. You might notice yourself reacting in anger, struggling to regulate emotions, procrastinating even when you know what needs to be done, or feeling stuck in unhealthy relationships. Others come in feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or affected by past or recent trauma. If any of this resonates, therapy may be a helpful next step.
All of us have felt overwhelmed, sad, anxious, or stressed. You may feel like the past is constantly intruding on your present. You might feel hyper-vigilant, struggle with nightmares, or find it difficult to trust others. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but it’s the best investment you can make when you prioritize yourself and your well-being. My approach is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I don't just sit and listen; I actively work with you to attain your goals. My goal is to create a secure, non-judgmental space where you feel truly seen and heard, and to help you move from simply surviving to truly thriving
I completed my undergraduate studies at Florida International University. I obtained a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University and completed both a master’s and doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Albizu University. I gained predoctoral internship training at University of Central Florida and a postdoctoral fellowship at Jackson Health System in affiliation with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology as well as a Masters degree in Social Work from Florida State University. My passion for helping people has always been something that was and is a part of me. I know that may sound cliche because many people in the field say this, however, helping others runs in my family, as my mom is also in the profession. She confirmed that passion within me that I knew I had and I am glad that I followed it. I have had fulfilling experiences within the field thus far and am excited to continue this journey with you!
I have experience working with those struggling with anxiety, depression, anger management, substance abuse, trauma, grief, self-esteem, and suicidal ideation. I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults in various settings including community mental health centers and agencies. I have been in the field long enough to really be able to develop my own style and take a genuine, collaborative therapeutic and non-judgmental approach to any client I’ve had the opportunity to help.
With over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring a warm, welcoming, and down-to-earth approach to therapy. I’m outgoing and easy to talk to, yet also introspective, which helps us explore deeper emotions and patterns in a way that feels natural and supportive. I specialize in substance use disorders as well as mental health conditions such as depression and bipolar disorder, and I blend empathy with practical, evidence-based tools to help clients feel understood and empowered. My goal is to create a safe space where you can grow, heal, and move toward meaningful, lasting change at your own pace.
