Ever since I was a teenager I knew that one of my purpose in life was to help others. Also, I knew that one of my strengths is the capacity to connect with others.
Understanding the nature of our behaviors and the way we interpret life became a great challenge. I enrolled in Psychology School with a clear understanding of what I wanted professionally, but never imagined the profound and deep journey that I was about to begin.
I have been a psychologist for 17+ years in the public and private sectors. During this time, I have developed the skills to work with patients who are suffering from trauma related symptoms & grief. For the past decade, I have also regularly helped people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.
I have over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. This experience includes 12 years as the Commissioner of Mental Health in a county in New York. This work included responsibility for mental health, alcoholism, mental retatardation (as it was called at the time), forensic mental health and family court.
I specialize in short term treatment or CBT(Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) with Adults.
I also believe I have the experience to work with women of color navigating the work field. I've written a couple books re this experience.
I'm active in my community as well as living a healthy lifestyle. I also love to travel.
