In therapy, it's important for you to know that I'm here to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely. My approach is collaborative and compassionate—I’ll work with you to understand your experiences and help you move toward meaningful change. I value honesty, curiosity, and respect, and I’ll always meet you where you are emotionally and mentally. I am a therapist who is truly passionate about helping people. Apart from my experience as a psychotherapist, I also have years of teaching experience at various levels of the educational system. I specialize in treating children, teens and youth. Having worked as a teacher and a counselor for many years, I know first-hand the challenges young people face, and I have the skills needed to help them overcome those challenges. I also have extensive experience as an ABA therapist treating children on the autism spectrum. In addition, I am a certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I am licensed in Florida and in New York.
I work with individuals curious about how their past shapes their present. My clients seek to explore their past, present, and future to better understand themselves and their patterns. I provide a warm, empathetic environment where your curiosities and needs are explored with care. Together, we’ll identify your strengths and values to help you live a more purposeful and fulfilling life.
I graduated from the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at the University at Albany in 2020. I completed my internship at Veterans Affairs (VA) Boston HealthCare System, where I received specialized training in substance use treatment, trauma-focused therapies, and psychological treatments for health issues such as insomnia, chronic pain, smoking cessation, and weight loss. Following my internship, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, where I continued to focus on specialized treatment for PTSD and substance use disorders, as well as psychological assessment. Since finishing my training, I have worked in a primary care clinic, providing mental health treatment to veterans for a wide range of presenting concerns.
In addition to my clinical work, I am actively engaged in research. My published papers have focused on substance use (specifically marijuana, alcohol, and nicotine) and associated diagnosis such as PTSD. My current projects aim to understand the perceptions and knowledge of both patients and mental health providers on psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT) and the role of artificial intelligence in the mental health field.
I am a bilingual Spanish-English therapist with experience providing social-emotional support ranging from pre-teens to adults and couples. I graduated from Hunter College in NY. I have worked in various settings such as a hospital, outpatient clinics, DOC, and the Court system.
