I offer a safe, warm, non-judgmental, and culturally responsive space where you are free to express your emotions, explore meaning, and heal at your own pace. I work with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns and substance use disorders, supporting clients in understanding their experiences and moving toward greater balance, resilience, and well-being.
My approach is holistic, creative, and eclectic, always tailored to your unique needs, strengths, and goals. With over 10 years of experience, I have worked with clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, helping them navigate challenges related to trauma, mental health, substance use, identity, and life transitions.
I have served as a counselor, clinical director, and program director, where I developed and implemented trauma-informed, integrated mental health and substance use treatment programs, ensuring clients receive ethical, high-quality, and compassionate care.
My academic background bridges both the art and science of healing. I hold a BFA and MFA, an MSW, postgraduate training in Trauma-Informed Care, and graduate-level study in philosophy, which informs my reflective, meaning-centered approach to therapy. I am currently working toward a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens through connection, curiosity, and compassion—and that every person deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered in their therapeutic journey.
I’m a licensed therapist with training in Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR, the Gottman Method, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy. Clients describe me as warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences and reconnect with your most empowered self.
In my role as a Dialectical Behavior Therapist, I support you in identifying and processing thoughts, feelings, sensations, and then learning to respond effectively - all while keeping your goals in mind.
I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am also a certified Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist. I'm an experienced therapist, deeply passionate about working with my clients to create positive lasting change through non judgmental exploration of past experiences, patterns and current challenges. I have extensive experience working in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, specializing in the treatment of depression, trauma and anxiety. Based in a holistic approach, my clients are supported and guided in achieving their goals. I help by creating an insightful, safe journey to healing.
I work from a client-centered perspective that utilizes vulnerability, genuineness, empathy, and unconditional positive regard to help those I work with safely explore the stressors and other life circumstances that may be negatively impacting their sense of peace and well-being in order to find effective strategies that will help achieve a balanced, happy, and healthy life. I have been providing clinical services since 2009 and speak both English and Spanish with native fluency.
My name is Heather Thompson and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I came into this field after being helped and inspired by an LCSW in my own therapy as a teenager.
I use a warm, nonjudgemental approach with other evidenced based practices. I also find it helpful to build on the strengths you already have.
Have you been let down by the mental health system? If you've been rushed through appointments, given quick diagnoses, or told your labs are "fine" when you know something is off, I want you to know you're not alone—and you're in the right place. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I created my practice for individuals like you who are ready to move beyond symptom-chasing and find a clear, root-cause understanding of their mental health.
