I have 10+ years of clinical experience which includes both inpatient and outpatient capacities with all ages. I engage an integrative approach that is person-centered with specialization in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Christian Counseling. As a bilingual (Mandarin Chinese and English) first generation American citizen to immigrant parents, I understand the difficulties of navigating between different cultural expectations and finding personal identity as a hyphenated American. I was also a military spouse and am familiar with the unique issues facing military families. I am straightforward and transparent in my communication yet empathetic and compassionate in supporting clients to reach their full potential and find fulfillment in life.
Hello, and thank you for considering therapy with me! I understand that seeking therapy can feel like a big step, and I want to assure you that this is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings, experiences, and challenges.
I studied Forensic Psychology and completed my Bachelor’s degree at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. I went on to complete my Master’s degree at St. Johns University where I studied Mental Heath Counseling.
I'm a RegisteredPlay Therapist & mom of 3 boys and 3 step-sons! We all need a little help sometimes and that's ok. After SU I continued my therapy education through intense trainings in Multicultural Systemic Therapy (Dr. Ken Hardy, LMFT), Suicide Safer Care (NYSOMH), and Play Therapy. I am Certified in AutPlay Therapy, a neurodiversity affirming family-based play therapy. I have worked in school-based play therapy for several years. I love working with children and their families to create loving, lasting connections.
Hello! I am a Columbia-trained and Columbia-affiliated psychiatrist who specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy.
I first received my Master's in Guidance & Counseling in the 1990s from Hunter College in Manhattan and obtained an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo. I have also been a practicing, licensed massage therapist for nearly 30 years. I have clinical experience providing empathic mental health care for individuals, couples, families, and groups and have treated anxiety, trauma, depression, personality and eating disorders, as well as other mental health concerns. I have also treated physical disease conditions and physical trauma with mind/body techniques. Each client is unique, and raising awareness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is the focus in working collaboratively and intentionally towards realistic solutions.
