In our life, it's natural to encounter deep-seated questions, concerns and sometimes struggle. I have been a practicing psychotherapist for over 20 years and specialize in helping clients navigate a variety of issues. This includes, but is not limited to strategies for managing anxiety, reducing rumination, and coping with feelings of being overwhelmed or depressed.
My name is Katarina Kucavikova, LCSW and I am a licensed and board-certified therapist with over 11 yrs of psychotherapy experience and two Masters Degrees. My main field of experience is family, adolescent, adult and older adult therapy. I have received Evidence-Based Certification in MDFT (Multi-dimensional Family Therapy) and in TRM Level I and II (Trauma Resiliency Model) and currently working on my EMDR certification.
My passion is Family Therapy.

I earned a Master of Arts degree in Psychology with a dual emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling at Brandman University. After having graduated I was employed at a non-profit agency working with children and families in the child welfare system. Many of my clients were victims of abuse and neglect. I worked closely with children, parents, and caregivers focusing on strengthening the family system and addressing early childhood trauma. Before having earned my Master’s degree, I worked in Applied Behavioral Analysis with children on the Autism Spectrum. I also have experience working with the severely mentally ill, as well as the elderly.
