My goal in therapy is to assist you in an environment that is caring and safe. I utilize approaches and interventions based on your needs. These are tailored to the individual and takes into account your personal, family and environmental influences. I have worked with a diverse clientele and welcome those from American and non-American cultural backgrounds.
My core belief is simple: I believe in you and your ability to become the healthiest, most fulfilled version of yourself. Life often makes it hard to see that potential, let alone know how to get there. My role is to be your guide and ally on that journey.
My path to becoming a clinician has been intentional. Beyond my master's degree in counseling and advanced post-master's training, my work in non-profit and community mental health has given me a breadth of experience with people from all walks of life. This doesn't mean "I've seen it all," but it does mean that I'm prepared to meet you where you are, without judgment. No matter what you're going through, if you are ready to take a step, so am I.
Look, nothing gets better if we don't find a way to face it safely. That's why therapy takes courage. It took courage just to get this far, and you already deserve credit for that. When you're ready for that first, brave step of reaching out, I'll be here, ready to loan you some of my hope until you can hold it for yourself.
Hi there, I'm Yanela, a bilingual LMHC with previous experience and a background in art therapy approach as a creative healing process.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults using a mix of evidence-based approaches and creative techniques to support emotional growth.
Hi, I’m Samantha. I'm a LMHC based in Florida with over a decade of experience helping individuals with anxiety, depression, work/life stressors, challenging relationships, and adjusting to major life transitions. I specialize in working with young adults, millennials, and pregnant/postpartum/burnt out moms. I aim to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be unapologetically you. In our sessions, we'll manage overwhelming stress, overcome unexpected changes, and dial down big emotions.
What led me to become a therapist...
When I was a child, my mother taught me a poem called “Children Learn What They Live.” It had a big influence on me – so much so that I knew at age 15 that I wanted to work with kids.
When I was a junior in college, the unimaginable happened, as I lost my teenaged brother. That tragedy affected me profoundly, igniting a passion for turning life’s lemons into lemonade.
I had a mission: to help people who are suffering but don’t know how to change it.
