Hello, my name is Christina! I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner who graduated from the Yale School of Nursing. I provide medication management and psychotherapy services at Park West Integrative Psychiatry, an integrative psychiatry practice specializing in trauma treatment located on Manhattan's Upper West Side. I have trained with both adults and children at the Yale Child Study Center, Yale New Haven Hospital, and Connecticut Mental Health Center. Outside of clinical work, I enjoy traveling, running, photography, and anything crafty!
I have spent a majority of my training working across the lifespan from childhood to adulthood, and within family systems. I am trained in helping clients with stress and anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, family conflicts, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, and depression. Some of the individuals that I work with are in recovery from eating and substance-related disorders. My clients often face school and work avoidance and may find it difficult to do things they once enjoyed.
I hold a Master's Degree in Social Work from New York University's Silver School of Social work. Prior to earning my master's degree, I studied Music Therapy and Psychology at Berklee College of Music. After finishing my undergraduate Degree at Berklee I worked as a Music Therapist at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and then worked for two years at an inpatient Psychiatric Hospital in LA. Working as a Music Therapist was fulfilling but left me feeling like I wanted to help get at the root of my client's trauma and have a deeper impact on their lives. After finishing my Master's I worked as a family therapist for a preventative program funded by Child Protective Services, I then transitioned to a group practice based in Brooklyn serving a diverse client caseload. I have now been working in private practice for over four years working primarily with women with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, perfectionism and body-image related issues.
I’m a warm, personable, and affirming therapist who welcomes people from all walks of life. I use my own intersectionality to better empathize with and understand the diverse experiences clients bring into the room. I’m collaborative and engaged—offering support while also gently challenging you when it can help you grow. My goal is to create a safe, empowering space where you feel understood, respected, and actively supported on your path forward.
I am a NYC born and raised Latina who has always had a passion for helping people. I started my work providing trauma counseling, working in a psychiatric unit to support individuals with serious mental illness, and then in an outpatient hospital setting working with adults with a mental illness and chronic disease. I am particularly passionate about supporting people through challenging life transitions (i.e. relationships, children, grief etc..).
I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 12 years of experience working with teens and adults. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, dissociation, gender dysphoria, stress related to chronic health conditions, attachment issues, and both complex and single-event trauma. I use a range of evidence-based practices, including EMDR, and tailor my approach to what best resonates with you.
