Hello and welcome! I My name is Ihab Shehata and I’m a board-certified psychotherapist in New York. I completed B.S in psychology in 1994, Masters in Clinical Social work in 2008 and recently completed post-masters certificate program in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I’m also certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and trained in logotherapy.
I believe that human behavior is too complicated to be explained by one theory or advanced by just one model. And that is why I utilize customized balanced eclectic approach when providing therapy to my clients. Some of the approaches I use in my practice include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, psychoanalysis, psychodynamics, and problem solving. I strife to assist my clients in resolving current problematic behaviors or emotions they are struggling with, improve their coping techniques, gain insight into themselves, improve their self-awareness, enhance their self-esteem and self-growth and find meaning and purpose in life.
I hope I will be able to assist you in your therapeutic journey. Whether you are looking for help with depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood swings, anger management, frustration tolerance, improving self-awareness, personal growth, I will provide you with a customized balanced eclectic approach that will meet your needs and help you reach your goals.
Hi, I’m Salvatore, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over five years of experience working in inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and life stressors through thoughtful, individualized care. I believe mental health treatment should feel collaborative, respectful, and judgment-free. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and confident in your treatment plan.
I am a doctoral-level and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor who specializes in supporting adults through grief, loss, anxiety, and life transitions. In addition to my clinical work, I’ve taught and trained graduate counseling students, which keeps my approach thoughtful, evidence-based, and deeply attuned to the counseling process. I understand how overwhelming change and loss can feel, and I strive to create a warm, steady space where you feel truly heard and supported. Together, we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you while building clarity, resilience, and emotional balance.
I am a licensed social worker with over twenty years of experience supporting children, individuals, and families. My professional background includes working in diverse settings such as outpatient community mental health clinics, psychiatric hospitals, and educational environments. I hold a Master of Social Work degree from SUNY Stony Brook and a post-graduate certificate from the NYU Silver School of Social Work.
I specialize in treating anxiety disorders and providing guidance during life transitions. My approach is compassionate, client-centered, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual I work with.
Almost everyone experiences some level of depression or anxiety during their lifetime. Sometimes these conditions prompt us to get care. They inspire us to work collaboratively with someone so that we can
navigate difficult times. Psychotherapy can help us make decisions, process relationships, endure
emotional pain and make real growth. I specialize in working collaboratively with adults who
experience depression and anxiety or are looking to work through stuck points in their lives.
In a career that first began twenty years ago in the Middle East and journeyed to NYC, I have seen clients from every conceivable background who have sought nurturing guidance to face trauma, anxiety, grief and sadness. Often, whether working with men and women suffering from loss or separation, abuse victims, veterans, refugees, or families of substance abusers, I have witnessed that moment of clarity in a client when they realize there is actually hope for a better, more satisfying life. This, I believe, is the essence of therapy and I strive to smooth the path towards and beyond it.
My aim is to help my clients recover hope and find the hero within. I focus on deepening client/therapist relationship through insight, empathy, mindfulness, humor, care, creativity and humanity. Furthermore, I am determined these be not just words we throw around, but pointers towards a better life filled with dignity.
I love literature and have a Master's degree in Creative Writing. This, I believe, can be another unique window in one's approach to therapy.
