Welcome! My name is Caserea Townsend, and I am truly honored that you have chosen me to accompany you on your journey. My approach is rooted in being transparent with every client. Transparency in our sessions means open, honest, and direct communication, where both thoughts and facts can be shared freely. This creates a foundation of trust and understanding, allowing you to feel safe being vulnerable and exploring your inner self as you face life’s challenges.
My goal is to support you through these challenges, empower you to make confident decisions, and encourage your personal growth.
Thank you for considering me as your therapist. I look forward to working together and helping you achieve your goals.
I work with adults, couples, and teens, helping people untangle challenges that often feel overwhelming, interconnected, or hard to name. I believe most struggles don’t exist in isolation—they affect our relationships, our emotions, and how we move through the world. My role is to truly get to know you, understand your story, and support you in creating meaningful, lasting change.
My background is both clinical and academic. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, along with graduate degrees in Philosophy and Sociology, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Communications. I’m also a doctoral candidate in Educational Psychology. This combination allows me to look at your concerns through emotional, relational, and systemic lenses—not just symptom-focused ones.
I specialize in trauma work, relationship therapy, and working with preteens and teens—who are often misunderstood but incredibly important to support early. I’ve trained in EMDR, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), CBT, Art Therapy, and Conflict & Dispute Resolution. Above all, I value creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely supported.
I’m passionate about helping people who often feel misunderstood or overlooked — especially those navigating substance use and mental health challenges. Over the years, I’ve seen how stigma can prevent people from seeking help, and I strive to create a safe, judgment-free space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves.
I received my first counseling license in 2015 in Indiana and my License as a Professional Counselor in Texas in 2017. I am EMDR trained. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and Autsim.
