Bruised Not Broken Therapy was born out of the lack of Afrocentric based psychotherapy that allowed people of color to embrace their journey of life through the context of color. HIV, substance abuse, mental health and the denial of the experience of being a person of color continues to plague communities of color, as we still have yet to talk about these experiences.
I specialize in working with clients who are experiencing or have experienced depression, anxiety, anger, grief/loss, relationship conflicts, addictions, gender/identity concerns, lack of motivation, abuse and trauma, life transitions and men’s mental health concerns. In addition, I have worked closely with the LGBTQ+ population. Prior to working in the private practice setting, I have 14 years of experience as a teacher and counselor in the public schools of New Jersey, Texas and Colorado.
I want you to know that when you work with me, you’re getting more than just a therapist—you’re getting someone who’s fully in your corner.
Over the years, I’ve worked in hospitals, community programs, and private practice, helping kids, teens, young adults, and adults navigate anxiety, stress, life transitions, and those “I feel totally stuck” moments.
I blend CBT, DBT, and mindfulness into a style that’s practical, warm, and tailored to you. That means we’re not just talking—we’re finding strategies you can actually use in your day-to-day life. Whether you’re a college student drowning in deadlines, a parent watching your child struggle with big feelings, or an adult feeling overwhelmed by change, I’m here to help you find your footing, build confidence, and start feeling more like yourself again.
I chose to become a psychiatric provider because I am inherently compassionate, and I enjoy talking to people about what's really going on with them, not just what they portray in public. This is always such an honor. I myself am always learning from my patients and their journeys. I love that there's always room for growth and it's never the same.
I’m a Doctor of Behavioral Health, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Clinical Hypnotherapist with advanced training in integrative, mind-body approaches to healing. I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, panic attacks and OCD. I also work with people who are experiencing depression, trauma, chronic stress, and difficulty navigating life transitions.
My clients are often looking for more than symptom relief — they want to gain a deeper understanding of themselves, reconnect with their inner strength, and create meaningful, lasting change. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide spectrum of people: from Veterans to homeless and individuals facing severe mental health challenges, to highly successful clients navigating the unique pressures of wealth, relationships, and career demands.
No matter their background or circumstances, what unites my clients is a shared desire for healing, clarity, and growth — and a commitment to creating a more fulfilling life. I meet each person with the same compassion, warmth, and nonjudgmental presence, honoring their unique story while walking alongside them on their path toward wholeness.
Regardless of your history, you are important to me. At our core, I believe we all long to be heard, validated, accepted, and healed — and it is an honor when your journey crosses with mine. For those who wish, I also welcome the integration of spirituality into our work, creating space for deeper meaning, connection, and transformation as part of the healing process.
